SERVICES

Dr. J. Cody Nielsen provides a variety of services to individuals.  This includes but is not limited to keynotes, professional trainings, consulting, and 1:1 coaching.  Cody’s unique background in both non-profit settings and higher education, as well as previous roles in religious-based nonprofits allows for integration of new concepts and ideas to flourish in your organization.  As well, Cody’s background in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, and his work in higher education make him a dynamic speaker who is always attuned to his audience and prepared to work with you on a variety of needs.

Keynotes

Dr. Nielsen provides keynotes for organizations and groups related to diversity, equity, and inclusion conversations, issues related to organizational climate and culture, and values, purpose, and belonging.

Professor Trainings

Professional trainings include anything from board and nonprofit management to strategic planning for organizations related to many areas, including DEI.  Trainings can be designed as needed for your organization and are delivered in both in-person and virtual offerings.

Consulting

Cody’s specialty in consulting revolves around developing organizational culture and setting strategic priorities.  His greatest joy, consulting provides medium and long-term interaction with organizations and is determined per project.  Cody’s areas of interest include working on strategic planning related to DEI and financial development, as well as board and organizational culture.

Coaching

Cody works with leaders and aspiring leaders who are working on their careers or seeking to improve their own roles within their organizations.  Coaching is designed in partnership with Cody and he is available at j.cody.nielsen@sankofastrategies.org to discuss how a coaching plan can work for you.

Corporate and Non-profit DEI Trainings

Dr. Nielsen works with a variety of nonprofits and for-profits businesses and organizations regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic planning and as well professional training. An expert concerning religious, secular, and spiritual identities and their intersections with anti-racism and de-colonialism. He enjoys working on single-setting keynotes, trainings, or long-term projects.

Teaching and Curriculum Design

Dr. Nielsen has served as an instructor at Dickinson College, Sam Houston State University, and DeSales University beginning in 2021.  Previously he has designed curriculum and training for more than 150 settings over the last decade.  One of Cody’s passions is in critical pedagogies and diverse learning styles. Nonprofit Consulting

Dr. Nielsen offers consulting for non-profits regarding strategic planning, annual funds, development and fundraising, board development, and coaching for professionals including Executive Directors. Dr. Nielsen has over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership and has launched or supported the launch of nearly a dozen organizations since 2008.

Religious-based Organizational Management

Dr. Nielsen’s earlier career included work with Protestant Christian communities.  He remains passionate about supporting congregations on their own journeys regarding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts as well as with Annual Funds, Development and Fundraising, and Executive Coaching.
